Then...
I was born to a 16-year-old mother who ignored advice to abort me because she was too young, yet finished high school on time as the valedictorian. When I was four years old, my father passed away, leaving my mother alone to raise me. Four years later, she met my stepfather. They were married, had my brother, and four years later, my sister.
I was born in a small town in Missouri and grew up on the outskirts of St. Louis. In high school, I played defense in football and participated in marching band, both in high school and college. When I was 16, I got my first job at the local McDonald's and have been working ever since. I was 14 when 9/11 happened, and I still remember sitting in my drafting and design class, watching the TV and vowing to join the Army as my father and grandparents before me had. After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the Army and became a military police officer. I served in the Army National Guard for six years and used the G.I. bill to attend Lindenwood University, where I studied information technology. Later, I earned a degree in criminal justice from Purdue University.
In 2010, I moved from Missouri to Marquette, Michigan, to be with the love of my life, Linda, and her four-year-old son. I started a small IT contracting business and grew it to have up to five employees and serve three states: Michigan, Arizona, and Wisconsin. Eventually, I was offered a well-compensated job at a Fortune 100 company that I couldn’t refuse, so I sold my book of business and started work in the corporate IT world where I am today.
I have been politically active my entire adult life. In 2004, I showed up at a Bush/Cheney field office as a wide-eyed, naive 18-year-old kid looking to make a difference; I was handed a list of numbers and began to make calls. Every chance I got, I volunteered during election years, but I never imagined I would run for office myself. Then 2020 happened.
It was during 2020 that I saw and understood how politicians can weaponize the government against people. As I watched the lockdowns, the shutting down of businesses and schools, and the mandating of medical and health decisions, I was appalled by what I saw and still see as egregious rights violations in the name of "safety." Even when the rules didn’t make sense, and everyone agreed they didn’t make sense, they were enforced simply because they could be. Michigan’s governor and others have admitted they "may have been too aggressive." This was after they had destroyed businesses and lives with zero repercussions.
Now...
I felt a calling to get more involved because I knew I had to make a difference. I earned my degree in criminal justice from Purdue University and am currently attending law school part-time. Eventually, I plan to help defend people from future authoritarian government mandates, which brings me to why I am here asking for your vote today.
Countless veterans and I signed on the dotted line to defend our constitutional rights. Consequently, I couldn't sit idly by and watch these constitutional rights be spat on and violated anymore; I felt I had no choice but to serve my country again and try to do my part to defend the rights of my friends, family, and neighbors. In 2021, I was a candidate for Westland City Council, where I made waves advocating for lower property taxes and utility costs. Then, in 2022, I ran for and was elected precinct delegate to represent my precinct and help the residents understand the political process, including the need to exercise our right to vote.
As long as I have been in Westland and the Detroit area, I have seen growth opportunities missed, especially around high property tax rates, infrastructure costs, and unreliability. In 2023, I ran for city council again alongside newly elected councilwoman Emily Bauman. I made significant progress and impacted the community, bringing to light wasteful spending in the local government and pushing for fixing our struggling infrastructure. As many know, I have been a big proponent and advocate for bringing a water tower to Westland, which would dramatically reduce water rates.
I am a member of the American Legion and the local Moose Lodge. I also helped found a social media platform called Myriad.social, designed to ensure free speech for everyone, everywhere. One of my downtime activities is to compete in weightlifting competitions on the weekends. You can find me at the gym with my dog, Axle Rose, most days of the week because a good workout keeps me grounded.
I am running for state house for the same reasons I ran for city council. I want to, and have the ability to, help Michigan thrive and grow again. Our population and business community are dwindling. We lost representation in the US House and are on track to lose two more seats after the 2030 census if nothing changes. Regardless of the effects on the people of Michigan, Democrats in Lansing are hell-bent to push their globalist agenda through. Whether it is taking away local zoning board rights, infringing on the Second Amendment, raising the costs for electricity and home heating, or trying to raise taxes on the middle class, Democrats are proving they are running a different agenda and have no compassion for the average Michigan family or person. They do exactly what they are told along party lines and seem to believe they know what's best for you and that you need them to think for you.
I can change that path. I know that you know what is best for you and your family. My job is to listen to you and guide legislation to preserve the freedoms that I, and many others, fought for: freedoms laid out in our Declaration of Independence and US and Michigan Constitutions.
No matter what happens, I will continue to work for and fight for your liberty and mine.
By voting for me in the special election this November, you are supporting a leader who will fight for your interests. Together, we can take back the House and stop Whitmer and the Michigan House Democrats who have led us down a path of ruin before it's too late.
